Young people and young adults in Sweden use the internet daily. A large part of screen time is spent on gaming and social media. At the same time, cases of radicalization that take place online are being highlighted and that have serious consequences even outside screens and keyboards. Do we turn a blind eye to hate online? What interests govern the different communities we participate in online?
We delve into these questions together with My Vingren, an investigative journalist who wall-crawls in right-wing extremist online environments, Oliver Merlöv, CEO of game development company Tarsier Studios, and Amanda Persson, who researches how masculinity is created and negotiated in young men's information flows on social media. Moderator: Karin J Saksi, librarian at the Public Library in Lund.
The event is part of Lund pratar – a program series where the Public Library in Lund invites you to conversations about issues that are burningly relevant at a local level.
