The Svanholm Singers from Lund have established themselves as one of Sweden's most prominent male choirs. The choir consists of 20 singers and has been led since 2001 by Sofia Söderberg. Light voices in combination with sharp intonation create the unique sound that has become characteristic of the Svanholm Singers.
The choir has toured both Europe and Asia, won several prestigious competitions and recorded eight CDs. The core of the business is the concerts and the direct contact with the audience. The choir's performances are characterized by unique musical interpretations and a strong stage presence that rarely leaves anyone unmoved. In addition to a strong anchoring in the Scandinavian and Baltic a cappella tradition, Svanholm Singers constantly strives to renew and develop the men's choir repertoire. This has led to collaborations with a large number of composers. Sofia Söderberg and several of the singers also create arrangements and compositions for the choir. Among the choir's favorite composers is the Estonian composer Veljo Tormis, with whom the choir had a unique collaboration. This resulted in several joint tours and an album that Tormis himself appears on - Tormis: Works for Men's Voices.
