Lund gets a nice visit from Germany when one of our absolute favorite choirs is on the program! Conductor Daniel Zimmermann brings the Michaeliskantorei Kaltenkirchen choir to Lund to perform Mozart's beloved Requiem.
Michaeliskantorei is a mixed choir with 60 singers. They regularly perform at church services and concerts in their hometown of Kaltenkirchen, located in the heart of Schleswig-Holstein, where the Michaeliskirche church is a cultural center for the entire region. In addition to many large oratorio concerts at home, the choir likes to go on extensive concert tours with orchestra and soloists. The choir has previously toured Bavaria and Austria, including Salzburg Cathedral, as well as Italy with a performance at San Marco in Venice. Now it's Lund Cathedral's turn to get a visit and with them the choir is accompanied by the ensemble Kammersinfonie Hamburg.
Tickets can be bought via Visit Lund or online at www.ticketmaster.se. Any remaining tickets are also sold in the entrance from 1 hour before the concert.
