Lund Choral Festival: Lund Cathedral Choir

Lund's boys' choir was founded in 1976 by Eva Svanholm Bohlin. The choir was then called the Cantarelles and was part of Lund's municipal music school. In 1987, the operation was moved to Lund Cathedral and the choir changed its name to Lund Cathedral Boys' Choir. After being the pastor's boys' choir for a couple of years, it was incorporated into the Cathedral's operations in 2018.

In the five sub-choirs, boys and young men practice separately and together every week. The groups Voces Canthorales and Cantorales Cathedrales together form Lund Cathedral's boys' choir.

VOCES CATHEDRALES make up the soprano and alto parts in Lund Cathedral's boys' choir. In recent years, they have had a very active concert life, which has included, among other things, a high mass on SVT and a Lucia concert recorded for P2 as well as singing for the Royal Couple during Lund Cathedral's 900th anniversary. Voces Cathedrales also sings its own repertoire as a treble choir. Before the summer holidays in 2023, they participated in Carmina Burana at Malmö Live. While the repertoire is mixed, there is a certain focus on the Church of England's tradition of boys' choir music. Leader is Susannah Carlsson.
CANTORES CATHEDRALES is a chamber male choir with a wide repertoire that includes both sacred, profane, modern and classical music. In Lund Cathedral's boys' choir, they make up the men's choir. Cantores Cathedrales was also part of the SVT and SR recordings as well as the 900th anniversary. The choir regularly sings together with the other groups in Lund Cathedral's boys' choir, but also has independent projects, such as a men's choir or in collaboration with other choirs, for example the women's choir Korallerna. Leader is Bo Isgar.
