Join Lund Municipality and Lund Nature Conservation Society on a lunchtime walk with the theme “nature in the city”. Together with municipal ecologist Hjalmar Åhrén and biologist Staffan Nilsson we walk from the amphitheater in Bjerredsparken to Folkparken. On the way we stop at Holmbergska tomten where we learn more about the eternal tree and why the park looks the way it does today. We continue to Folkparken, a district park with rich biodiversity. Among other things, an inventory of bats and amphibians has been made in the park and we learn more about this.
Nature in the city is important for both biodiversity and us humans. Hjalmar will talk more about the role of nature in society and the positive effect it has on our well-being.
The walk ends in Folkparken. There are opportunities to ask questions during the walk.
The lunch hike is free of charge and no pre-registration is required. Meet at the amphitheater in Bjerredsparken at 12:00. Parts of the hike are not accessible as we walk through bushy terrain.
This event is part of Sustainability Week 2025, which runs from May 5-10. Sustainability Week is an annual event in Lund organized as a collaboration between Lund University and Lund Municipality. The week is a platform to create dialogue, raise awareness and inspire sustainable change.
