This year we are kicking off Litteralund on Saturday, April 5th at Lund Art Hall!
Welcome to a really fun afternoon at Lunds konsthall! There will be workshops, readings, the library bus and much more – and in the middle of all this fun we will be secretly opening the new exhibition at Lunds konsthall where 20 picture book illustrators will be exhibiting originals, sketches and other material. Artist Azul Lopez will be drawing on Lunds konsthall's windows live for visitors as part of her installation I thought I Could Not Fly, 2025, in the exhibition Nothing is Impossible For Us.
Here are today's program items:
✨ 13.00–13.45 Viewing of picture book exhibition: Nothing is impossible for us – 20 Picturebook makers at work.
Ten Swedish and ten international picture book creators who have participated in Litteralund over the years will showcase originals, sketches, objects and everything else that somehow contributes to the creation of a book. You will see completely new sides of your favorite illustrators and gain insight into what inspires and drives them. For all ages. No pre-registration required.
✨ 14.00–15.00 Picture workshop with Øyvind Torseter
Øyvind Torseter is a Norwegian artist and illustrator who has illustrated both his own and other people's books, including the book The Hole. In this art workshop you will try drawing methods that Øyvind often uses himself. Øyvind's workshop
is about not thinking too much while drawing, but letting what is happening on the paper guide the drawing. Both beginners and experienced artists will appreciate this workshop! From 8 years old. No pre-registration required.
✨ 15.30–16.30 Book release: How do animals sound by Clara Dackenberg
Who knows what the frog, the pufferfish and the snails sound like? What do the forest mouse and the giant tiger say? And when the bumblebee sneezes, what sound echoes through the forest? Do you think you can guess? We read the book together and then make animal masks. Which animal do you want to be today – one that exists in reality, in fairy tales, or just in your imagination? And what sounds does that particular animal make? For all ages. No pre-registration required.
