Large quantities of pharmaceuticals end up in rivers, lakes and seas via the drains. Medicines are good for our bodies in the event of an illness, but can also affect other organisms. Fish can lose their appetite, frogs can lose the ability to reproduce, and sex can be affected in several animal species.
Elin Engdahl, expert in environmental toxins at the Nature Conservation Association, discusses the problem and what can be done to reduce its extent.
Organized in collaboration with Lund's Nature Conservation Association and Lund University's Sustainability Forum. Part of the Environmental Program series.
