Women's lives in the 1800th century – from farmhouse to bourgeois salon

Welcome to viewing!

Join us on a captivating journey through time through two completely different worlds, where we step into Blekingegården and Thomanderska House to explore everyday life in the 1800th century. How did people really live in the past, and how did social class and status shape people's lives?

Our museum host guides you through the homes, focusing on the role of women. You will hear stories about women's everyday lives, chores and stay conditions - both in the simple rural environment and in the elegant bourgeois home. We examine how the strict ideals of women of the time affected everything from daily work to socializing, and how class differences redrawn the map of what a woman could and was allowed to do.

Tonight's guide is Isabella Ivarsson.

Included in the entrance fee, no advance booking. Gathering at the back of the White House (entrance hall), where there is a sign indicating the gathering place.
