The interests of victims of crime have not always been so prominent in criminal law, but today it is a central issue in criminal policy. One purpose of sentencing and punishing those who have committed crimes is for the victim to receive redress. What is really important to the person who is the victim of a crime? How can the interests of victims of crime be recognized and met in the best way? Are the interests of victims and perpetrators always at odds with each other? Can victims of crime receive redress in ways other than through punishment?
The event is part of the series Criminal Conversations – open conversations about crime and punishment with criminal law researchers Sverker Jönsson and Tova Bennet and is arranged in collaboration with Lund University.
Free entry, no pre-registration required.
