Art for Christmas Gift

Lunda artists have dug deep and are donating artworks for sale in the City Hall for the benefit of Julgiven* on 13 and 14 December. The price is set as low as 200–400 kronor per artwork so that as many people as possible can afford a purchase, and all the money goes directly to Julgiven. There are no administration costs or rent. Anyone who wants to buy an artwork swishes the amount directly to Julgiven, and a note is made – from whom, which artwork, what amount – by the exhibition manager. The buyer is allowed to take the artwork with them at the time of purchase. If there are too many empty spaces on the wall, the exhibition manager will fill in with more artworks during the course of the exhibition.

Exhibitors: Anders Holmqvist (Sydsvenskan drawings, watercolors), Kristian Holmqvist (watercolors, drawings), Maria Holvoe Gouras (oil painting), Lena Kahl Asketorp (watercolor monotype collage), Jan Kamping (photography), Anne Säfström Lanner (watercolors), Hans Verduijn (graphics), Kent Wisti (drawings, prints)

*Julgiven was founded in Lund during the 2020 pandemic. People with small margins were in need of help. Through the campaign, civil society came together in a rarely seen way; through local aid organizations, the church, foundations, companies and associations, over a thousand portions of Christmas food were distributed to those affected by the pandemic and the children received Christmas presents. The initiative took root in the city and has been successfully continued since then through the underlying non-profit association Given Förening. In 2025, the association changed its name to the clearer Lundagiven and the focus is now on raising money through the Julgiven campaign and channeling it to the various organizations that carry out activities for Lunda residents in need of both community and food on the table.
