On Friday 27 October, LundART will inaugurate a series of new works by the artist Johan Österholm at Lund's Central Station. PP#185 is one of three new works in the series Photodegradation Piles, which consists of scanned stacks of used light filters, collected and saved from museums and art galleries around Sweden. The works can be seen in the stairwells between the platforms and the underpass until April 2024.
"When the works are up during the darker half of the year, October to April, I want to add something intensely colorful to the place, a kind of calming lighthouse in the passageways. The works in the Photodegradation Piles series were created as site-specific aesthetic objects, on an enlarged scale that I would hardly use in a smaller exhibition space.” says Johan Österholm.
Johan Österholm (born 1983) lives and works in Stockholm, he has a master's degree from the Academy of Fine Arts in Malmö, 2016, and a bachelor's degree from the Academy of Fine Arts in Umeå, 2014.
The project is a collaboration with the Swedish Transport Administration.
