Are you curious about science and appreciate a good carnival tradition? Then you are warmly welcome to the opening of the University Library's new exhibition "Freedom of Thought - from Copernicus to the Celestial Carnival"! Here you will experience science and humor in an unexpected combination.
The University Library has recently rediscovered its copy of Nicolaus Copernicus' classic work "On the Revolutions of the Heavenly Spheres" from 1566. The library is celebrating this with an exhibition that, in harmony with the 2026 Lunda Carnival and its celestial theme, highlights freedom of thought - both in science and humor.
The exhibition is made in collaboration with the Archives of the Academic Society and the 2026 Carnival Committee. In it you will see revolutionary astronomical works from the fifteenth and seventeenth centuries, together with historical and contemporary carnival material that wields power.
Come and be inspired by a long tradition where free thought, questioning and laughter are at the center.
