A striking, touching and unabashedly funny monologue about a tumultuous adolescence.
After sold-out houses in London - now comes the drastic monologue in a Swedish translation and staging. How do we get through the chaos that adolescence can be?
A touching and insanely funny coming-of-age story about a girl who got through her stormy teenage years after all. Eileen is thirteen years old when her sister dies of anorexia. The disaster sends her into a time of tough, almost improbably brutal events.
With a rapt audience address and a lot of dark humor, we get to follow Eileen from the age of thirteen to seventeen, through a dizzying metamorphosis. A journey that navigates how grief and trauma can leave their mark, about the loneliness and anger that takes over. About losing your footing, about love, sex and new unwanted family members.
The acclaimed text is written by the young British playwright Rosie Day. In this Swedish production, we get to see Alexandra Nordberg (among others the Netflix series Love & Anarchy) in the role of Eileen.
