Historic concert

On Thursday, February 20 at 18:00 PM, you have the opportunity to join us on a journey through time. Together with Ensemble Mare Balticum, we move from ancient times onwards, but stay in the museum's church hall. The musical journey through historical instruments gives us a picture of an ancient world of sound well worth exploring.

The concert is aimed at adults, but is also very suitable for younger visitors.

The concert is free, but requires a ticket.

The doors to the museum open at 17.45:18.00 PM and close just before the concert starts at XNUMX:XNUMX PM.

Ensemble Mare Balticum will be visiting us during the sports holiday week and will be holding sound and music shows together with the museum on Wednesday and Thursday. You can read more about these shows and other activities during the sports holiday in the sports holiday event.

About Ensemble Mare Balticum:
Music in the South Ensemble Mare Balticum was formed in Ystad in 1989 and is currently based in Kristianstad. The ensemble plays on period instruments and specializes in music from the Renaissance and early Baroque, often from the area around the Baltic Sea, but is no stranger to either older or contemporary music. The musicians have extensive experience in presenting both music history educational programs for children and young people, as well as performing pure concerts for adults.
During the years 2013–2018, the ensemble has collaborated in a European musical archaeology project, where archaeology and research are used to try to recreate a world of sounds that one imagines might have sounded like in ancient times.
