HOME – Welcome to the innermost. To the place where you feel safe or perhaps dream of feeling safe. We at Lunds Fontänhus Atelje have been working on the theme of home during the autumn. A seemingly simple theme, but as we discovered during the work, it has many depths and depths. A safe home can feel like a given for those who have one and like something reserved for others, for those who do not have one.
During our work, we have explored what home means to each of us and have partly found that it is somewhere within ourselves that the true home lies. Perhaps the outer home is just a reflection of our inner home? How do you take care of yours? Who has been allowed to furnish it there? Do you have a tenant who has not paid the rent for a very long time? It is easy to become blind to what is too close, to not re-evaluate the things that physically and mentally absorb our daily energy.
Many of us at Fontänhuset have experienced exclusion, we know how different it can look. Perhaps the worst thing about exclusion is the helpless feeling of losing our inner home. When we lose our footing and do not dare to trust our inner truth, our inner safe place and that life wants us well. Then it is vital that that place is outside, in another person, in an animal, in a place, in a context. What else will carry us through everyday life when life is sometimes motley even for the most comfortable and stable homes?
So welcome into our homes. Today we share them with you through paint, fabric, thread, paper and board.
