As part of Sustainability Week, we invite you to inspiration, activities and smart tips for a more sustainable everyday life. Meet local stakeholders, visit the recycling container, participate in workshops and join in on Book Swap Day!
Lund Municipality, the Swedish Waste Management Agency, the Mobility Unit, Circle Centre, Climate Advisors and stakeholders around sustainable shopping invite you to conversations, activities and fun throughout the week. Skåne Cultural Centre creates decorations from recycled materials and adorns Stortorget in honor of the week.
On Saturday, April 18, the program will also end with a big Book Exchange Day and recycling workshop with Erikshjälpen!
The recycling container
The recycling container is a mobile exchange room where you can drop off, pick up and exchange things. What is no longer needed by one person can be given a new life by someone else.
Here you can drop off and pick up: kitchen utensils, decorative items, clothes and shoes, books, toys.
Note: Furniture, hazardous waste and broken/used items are not accepted.

Talks about their business and holds repair workshops during the day.
Mobility Unit Travel Agency
Visit their pop-up travel agency and discover fun local destinations in Lund Municipality – and how to get there in a sustainable way.
There is also a competition with a chance to win a prize.
11:00–17:00 Energy and climate advisors on site
Talk to advisors about how you can save energy for the summer and the next heating season. They will also give you tips on upcoming energy tariffs.
15:00 – 17:00 Hazardous waste truck on site
Do you have hazardous waste at home? Leave it here!
The hazardous waste van is a specially equipped vehicle with a driver and chemist. Private individuals can drop off hazardous waste and small household electrical and electronic products (up to the size of a microwave oven) here.
Examples of hazardous waste: light sources, batteries, electronics, pharmaceuticals, paint and chemicals
BIG BOOK EXCHANGE DAY
09.00–11.00 Submission for the Great Book Exchange Day
Hand in up to 10 books and receive the same number of book tickets.
12:00–15:00 – Big Book Swap Day
Swap for new books! The books are divided into categories and the goal is for thousands of books to find new owners.
After 15.00
Leftover books after the Big Book Exchange Day can be picked up by anyone, even those who have not returned any.
11:00–14:00 – Mobility Unit Travel Agency
Come by and talk about sustainable travel and local destinations in Lund with the Mobility Unit at Lund Municipality. Don't miss out on stopping by the travel agency to learn about nature close to the city and other tourist attractions.
11:00–15:00 – Creative recycling workshop with Erikshjälpen
Reusing/recycling and protecting the environment is one of the mottos at Erikshjälpen Second Hand. In Lund there is a remake group. Here we remake clothes and textiles into something new, so come along and we will show you how clothes and textiles that have not been sold get new life. Drop-in, for the whole family.

11.00-17.00 – Free bike repair with Bike Kitchen
Has your bike broken after the cold winter? Repair your bike for free with Bike Kitchen Lund, a volunteer-run association that promotes sustainable mobility by teaching practical bicycle maintenance. We recycle and repair bicycles in Lund and promote the circular economy. Come and talk to us about sustainability, and we'll repair your bike in the meantime!
