Synopsis:
Hallandsspexet presents this year's production: Poisonous Ladies! On a back street in 1600th-century Paris lies La Voisin's infamous bakery. There she bakes cakes all day long. She bakes big ones, she bakes small ones, does she bake some with poisons on them?
When three of her clients discover that they all have the same goal – to kill King Louis XIV – the underhanded dealings begin in earnest.
"Giftiga damer" is a performance loosely based on true events with many historical inaccuracies and free interpretations. After all, didn't Mozart exist in the 1600th century? Where did the guillotine really come from? Did people really have stones instead of pillows? And what was the first true crime podcast?
In this year's Hallandsspex we offer lots of laughter, French pastries and a wicked sudden death! The performance will be performed at Stenkrossen from November 19-23. Bienvenue!
