Since their debut single "I ett annat liv" (In Another Life) was released in February 2025, Alessandra Günthardt and Joel Sjöö, together with Genom Natten, have established themselves as one of the interesting names on the Scandinavian indie scene. With a sound where Swedish melancholy meets shimmering dream pop, the duo has found their own place between big melodies, darkness, light and lyrics that stay with the listener.
On September 4th, Genom Natten will release “Himmel helvete” – the band’s most upbeat single to date. The song is about being in a toxic relationship.

– Himmel helvet was written very quickly. We have both had relationships where you feel terrible but at the same time feel more alive than ever, that's something that is so addictive about it. We wanted to capture that contrast by depicting dark emotions in an uplifting song, describes the duo.
Genom Natten has received increasing attention from both audiences and music editors around the Nordic region over the past year. The duo's music has received rotation on P3 in Sweden and Norway, while the spring single "För nära solen" (Close to the Sun) has continued to be heard on the radio, including with support from NRK and Yle X3M. Now Genom Natten is following up on the Nordic response with a winter tour that begins at Nalen in Stockholm and continues on to Mejeriet in January.
