From Global Challenges to Sustainable Career Choices

What will work look like in the future and what skills will be important? In this interactive workshop, we explore global challenges that are shaping careers and invite you to reflect on how to find meaningful and sustainable work that connects your talents and interests with the world's needs.

NOTE: This event is held in English.

Sustainability is changing the way we think about work, careers and the skills needed in the future. Global trends such as the green transition, digitalisation and social change are reshaping the labour market, but they also raise deeper questions about meaning, values and how we want to live and work.

This interactive workshop invites participants to reflect on sustainability in relation to their current or future careers. We will explore key trends shaping the future of work and discuss how individuals can navigate change while seeking work that feels both meaningful to them and useful to the world.

The workshop combines short inputs with practical reflection exercises. You will be invited to reflect on how global trends may impact your field, which skills and competencies may become increasingly important, and how your own values can guide future career choices. No prior knowledge is required.

The session does not aim to provide ready-made answers, but to create space for reflection and new questions. You are encouraged to leave the workshop with at least one insight that will stay with you after the workshop.

Workshop leader

The workshop is led by Elin Holgersson, study and career counselor at the Department of Psychology at Lund University, with a background in psychology and a strong interest in sustainability, green guidance and the future of work.
