Multicolor knitting with shortened rows, Linnea Ornstein
Shortened turns are a technique that is common in e.g. sweaters, but if you instead use the technique and knit with different colors, the shortened rows can be used to easily and efficiently create beautiful patterns in multi-colored knitting without having to keep track of several threads at the same time.
In the course, we go through the basics of multi-color knitting with shortened rows, how patterns with shortened rows are built, how to make nice turns, and other things that might be good to know.
Previous knowledge
The only prior knowledge you need is to be able to cast on and knit straight stitches. We knit a sample patch together and after the course you should be able to read and follow simpler patterns in multi-colour knitting with shortened rounds.
After the course, you then get the opportunity to try one of Linnea's patterns at a discounted price to use the technology in practice.
Take with you
– Yarn (preferably wool) which is approx. 200-300 m/100g, in two different colours. About 25g per color is enough.
– Suitable knitting needles, preferably circular knitting needles, approx. 4-5 mm.
Yarn and knitting needles are available for purchase on site.
About Linnea Ornstein
Linnea Ornstein designs knitting patterns that are easily recognizable for their leaf patterns in shortened rounds. She combines design with her skills as a photographer and writer to create stylish, clear and educational patterns that easily become addictive.
As a photographer, Linnea has photographed weddings, portraits and events over the years, but now mainly uses her skills to photograph her knitting patterns.
