During May's Flamenco All-Stars, we invite you to a nice visit from Seville at Stenkrossen!
A dancer we have long wanted to bring to Sweden is Cristina Hall, who is internationally recognized as a choreographer and interdisciplinary artist. Together with dancer Javier Aguilar, who has been in Sweden with Chicos Fritos: Bailaores We now get to experience these two dancers up close in a new piece in the midst of the creative process: Two paths to the moon – Two paths to the moon. With them on this journey are the flamenco duo Chicos Fritos and in true FlamencoFriday spirit the evening continues with a Tablao-set together with the house band.
Two paths to the moon
The night awakens, and with it, the two wandering souls who seek their reflection in the moon. Two dancers, two paths intertwined by rhythm, the power of the stomp and the heartbeat of the earth. Between shadows and flashes of light, their bodies draw a duel of passion and destiny, a journey where flamencón becomes an ancient language that whispers to the sky.
The fire of their steps echoes in the darkness, while the moon, the eternal witness, watches them dance. Are they rivals or reflections of the same longing? Do they chase each other, or do they meet in the swing of each spin?
Two Paths to the Moon is a performance where art overflows in every movement, in every lament that turns into song. It is a journey of light and shadow, of challenge and surrender, where dance is not just movement but a ritual that strives to achieve the impossible: to touch the moon while standing with bare feet on the earth.
