After the success of the debut film A Love Story Roy Andersson suffered from depression. He began experimenting with an aesthetic that would develop for decades to come, and the seeds of this can be found in the film Giliap (1975). The film was panned when it came out, but is now seen as a classic in Swedish film history.
The cast includes, among others, Thommy Berggren and Mona Seilitz. The film is 136 minutes long and has an age limit of 15 years. The film screening is part of the library's program series Theme: Roy Andersson.
