Öresund's Young Symphony Orchestra
Öresund's Unga Symfoniker is a college-preparatory orchestra of purposeful, young musicians run by the Malmä New Music Conservatory. ÖrUS had its debut concert in August 2020 and it is with great joy that the orchestra is now giving its first concert in Lund Cathedral.
ÖrUS consists of approx. 45 musicians from the entire Öresund region who rehearse continuously every week under the direction of internationally active conductors with various concert projects as their goal. The orchestra's activities also take place in collaboration with enthusiastic supervisors from Malmö Symphony Orchestra and Malmö Academy of Music, who periodically lead voice and section rehearsals with ÖrUS musicians. During its short, active time, ÖrUS has had a number of productions such as symphony concerts, children's concerts, musical concerts as well as Christmas and summer concerts at, among others, Malmö Live, Palladium and Helsingborg's concert hall.
Öresund's Unga Symfoniker looks forward to continuing to celebrate the Cathedral's 900th anniversary, which took place in 2023, with this festive concert.
