From shoe market to second-hand shops
Uncle Erik is a moving musical drama based on the short but eventful life of Erik Nilsson. It is the 1940s and in a hospital a seriously ill and lonely boy dreams of making a difference, even though no one sees how he could possibly manage anything at all. He will eventually lay the foundation for one of the country's largest aid organizations, but behind the success was a son, a husband and a father who dedicated his life to helping others, when he could barely take care of himself. Everyone knows about Erikshjälpen, but who was Erik really?
For the first time, Erik's life is now depicted on stage. The script is written by Mats Kjelbye, who has written for Gothenburg City Theatre and Malmö Opera, among others.
