ABOUT THE BOOK
The year is 2006. Henrik Qvarnholt is head of the Royal Library's manuscript department. He got the job a couple of years ago, after it was discovered that his predecessor had stolen a large number of valuable books. HQ, as he is called, is the right man in the right place according to himself. He has a sharp intellect and loves education and culture. But HQ also loves alcohol and women and has expensive habits. He has long followed in his predecessor's footsteps – or rather the other way around.
"A Simple Thief" is a fictional story where we follow an unscrupulous lifeless man for a few crucial months. How long can he endure his debauched life? How much can he steal without being discovered? Doesn't he really want to stop stealing? The main character lets us into his thoughts.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Tobias Petterson is an author, librarian and musician. He has previously written books about music, film and football. As a librarian, he has long been fascinated by book thieves and in this novel he explores an unscrupulous personality from a first-person perspective. "A Simple Thief" is his fiction debut.
