The British vocal group The King's Singers was formed in 1968 and has since established itself as the world's leading six-part a cappella group. With around 125 performances each year on all continents and nearly 80 complete albums, they have been both loved by and become a role model for many of the world's choral singers for more than 50 years.
As part of the 2023 edition of the Uppsala Choir Festival, Ecstatic Ensemble performed a joint concert with The King's Singers in Uppsala Cathedral. The concert was a complete success and established a strong bond of friendship between the ensembles.
The band was established much earlier – already with Malena Ernman's musical awakening at the age of eight! That was when she came into contact with The King's Singers. The group's choral arrangements caught her attention and Malena set about writing down the group's arrangements by ear – and then sending the notes to them for correction. This later led to her being invited backstage to get to know the group in person the next time they performed in Sweden.
The personal bond between the musicians has long since developed into a professional one, and The King's Singers have, since their success in Uppsala, explicitly asked Ecstatic Ensemble to produce another collaborative concert in Sweden.
The tour has now arrived at Lund All Saints' Church on September 20, 2025.
