You warm new world – our health in a changing climate

Climate change is no longer a distant threat, but is already harming human health in various ways and risks reversing the progress made in global public health over the past decades. People are being affected by new diseases and the challenges for the healthcare system are increasing. The coming decades will not only be warmer, but also sicker.

Andreas Vilhelmsson is an associate professor and researcher at Lund University and teaches climate medicine in the medical program. He has also written the book Climate Medicine for Student Literature. In the lecture, Andreas talks about how climate change affects our health and what it means for healthcare and what we can do to prevent and mitigate the problems.

Organized in collaboration with the Lund Society for Nature Conservation and the Sustainability Forum at Lund University as part of the spring lecture series on climate and environmental issues.
