Trams have been running in Lund since 13 December 2020. The new light rail is the first in Sweden in 110 years and the most debated urban development project in Lund's history.
Håkan Lockby is a former technical director in the municipality of Lund and has worked with urban planning and traffic issues for more than 35 years. Together with Christer Ljungberg, he has also written the book So came the tramway to Lund. In the presentation, we hear about the tramway, which was never a goal for the municipality, but one of several means to achieve the municipality's goal of sustainable development. And about how the urban development projects in the so-called "Kunskapsstråket" and in the new district of Brunnshög are intertwined with the light rail project. That they presuppose each other.
This exciting lecture is arranged by Habo gård and financed by the Habo Foundation. The event is broadcast live by Digitala Träffpunkten. To take part in the lecture, go to www.lund.se/digitalatraffpunkten and follow the instructions.
