Anxiety disorders are common in young people and manifest through intense fear and worry that lead to avoidance and stress. More than 140 children in Sweden suffer from anxiety disorders and many have such big problems that they do not function at school or with peers. Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is an effective treatment, but healthcare has difficulty offering treatment to everyone who needs it, resulting in long waiting times. Internet-based CBT (ICBT) is CBT given via the Internet. IKBT can reach more people because the families work independently from home with the help of digital guidance, videos and exercises. The lecturer is Eva Serlachius, professor at Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Department of Clinical Sciences, Lund. Organized in collaboration with Lund University and the Crafoord Foundation.
