It's a shame about the people of Skåne – A dream game

Dad is disappointed. His daughter has failed geography and even worse, zero points in the Skåne section! He who has roots in Skåne, family and friends! It's embarrassing! He sees no other way out than to send his daughter to Skåne so she can learn more about the flat landscape.

All said and done, she's on her way on the next train and once there, a journey begins that no one could have predicted. A little boy outside a classroom waits for his sweetheart to finish writing her exam. In the dining room, the staff is upset that Skåne dishes are missing from the menu. At a tourist office, two employees try to counteract the violence in the region with more violence. And when you least expect it, a poet shows up and sings praises to the pearl of the south. How will it go? Will our main character learn more about Skåne? Is it all a ritual for her to be accepted as a Skåne native?

It's a shame about the Scanians is inspired by August Strindberg's "A Dream Play" but instead of Indra's daughter stating that it's a shame about the people, our daughter concludes that it's a shame about – precisely – the Scanians. It's a play about regional belonging, who is competent in the landscape and why? Can you tell from the Scanians that they are Scanians? Are they so proud of being Scanians? And is it really that bad for them?
