Democracy and climate change

Democracy and climate change – how do we create engagement together?

How can democratic processes strengthen the climate transition – and how can more people get the opportunity to participate? Welcome to a presentation and panel discussion about citizen engagement, climate and the future of local democracy.

During this hour, researchers, civil society actors, officials and politicians will meet to discuss the connection between democratic development and climate change. The conversation will draw on experiences from the climate dialogue at Norra Fäladen and explore how citizen dialogue can contribute to real change.

The panel highlights questions such as: How can more voices be heard on the climate issue? What role do local initiatives and politics play? And how do we create engagement that leads to action?

The call is moderated by Jamil Khan, researchers at Lund University, and is aimed at Lund residents of all ages – especially young people, association activists and decision-makers.
