Debate in Lund: Are utopias needed?

In an era marked by crises and uncertainty, the question of the role of utopia is brought to a head: Is it a necessary vision that creates hope and inspires change, or a dangerous illusion that leads astray?

Idealized visions of perfect societies have always inspired dreams of a better world. While some long for the past, others dream of a new world order. But which one? Is it the tech billionaires' or the degrowth movement's? How do today's visions connect with history's, and what happens when my utopia is your dystopia?
Welcome to an evening where we look both forward and backward to explore the significance of utopia – and dystopia – in our time.
