Crafoord's Science Lunches: The Future of Home Healthcare

How can hospital care move to the patient's home? In a pressured healthcare system, new solutions are being tested. The "Hospital at Home" care concept at Skåne University Hospital has treated over 3000 patients with acute illnesses in their own homes since 2020 - with good results.

John Molvin, a physician and cardiovascular researcher, discusses how home care can reduce hospitalizations, increase patient satisfaction, and prevent complications that often occur in hospitals. We also learn about new research comparing home care to traditional hospital care, and how wearable sensors and AI can help detect deterioration in time.

The goal is more personalized care – where the right intervention is implemented at the right time and resources are used where they are most beneficial.

The lecture is introduced by Patrik Midlöv, Head of the Department of Clinical Sciences, Malmö. Organized in collaboration with Lund University and the Crafoord Foundation. Free admission, no pre-registration required.
