Around 1660, the priest and musician Franz Rost traveled from Baden-Baden to Strasbourg, bringing with him his manuscript music collection, the Codex Rost. In this way, an important source of 1600th-century instrumental music was saved from destruction – shortly afterwards, the Margraviate of Baden-Baden was burned to the ground in the war. At this concert, you will have the opportunity to experience the music again as we bring new life to the beautiful, forgotten trio sonatas from the Codex Rost.
