Chocolate days at Kulturen: Montezuma's secret - mission for children

Montezuma was the ruler of the Aztecs in the early 1500th century. In their kingdom (now Mexico) the cocoa bean was used as currency and only the richest could make a tasty drink from it – hot chocolate.

To find Montezuma's secret, you need to solve some missions in the museum area. You can do it between 10 am and 14 pm.

Start in the Borgarsalen in the Borgarhuset (no. 20 on the visitor map). There you meet Sara, who tells you about her grandmother's mother Berit, who once worked at the museum. On a fund-raising trip to Mexico in 1923, she received a casket made of cacao trees as a thank you for helping on an archeological dig. It is said that Montezuma had owned the coffin. No one has seen it since, but we know it is in the museum. With the help of clues left by Berit in a letter, you will find the chest and Montezuma's secret.

Suitable for children aged 5 and over, accompanied by an adult.
