Chicago – Teen Edition

Chicago in the late 20s. Roxie Hart dreams of a life on stage but when she accidentally murders her lover, she ends up in prison instead despite the support of her loving husband Amos. In prison, Roxie meets a series of accused women, not least the idol Velma Kelly, and quickly learns what is needed to avoid prosecution - a meeting with the slimy lawyer Billy Flynn. Together with Billy, Roxie plans a big PR coup… maybe the murder can help her reach the top after all?

The musical Chicago is one of the most beloved musicals of our time created by John Kander, Fred Ebb and Bob Fosse based on a play written by Maurine Dallas Watkins. With the help of unforgettable show numbers and well-known music, the audience is treated to a rattling show with dark undertones.

Through well-known numbers such as "All that jazz", "Razzle Dazzle" and "Cell block tango", a story about corruption, power and delusions is told. A story that in our age of clickbait, fake news and sensational journalism is more relevant than ever.

The students you see on stage are in their final year of the aesthetic excellence programs in dance and music at Lund's dance and music high school.

So come celebrate Chicago's 50th anniversary with us! Enjoy fast-paced dance numbers, grand vocal performances and touching theater. You will experience murderous sisterhood, unexpected alliances and glittering press conferences. Because who is really responsible for the truth coming out in a world where we all let ourselves be dazzled by what glitters the most? Or as Billy Flynn himself sings:

“If they come at you, distract! Wave something that sparkles more! Just dazzle them, everything is magic here”.

We recommend the performance for children and adults over 10 years of age.
The show is about 3 hours incl. break
