In 1965, a group of students in Lund decided to form a new ensemble – Cappella Lundensis. Their dream was to explore classical music in depth alongside their university studies in a smaller group where all members took great responsibility and inspired each other.
60 years later, Cappella Lundensis is still alive and well, and for the past 15 years, Wieska Szymczynska, a teacher at the Malmö Academy of Music and former concertmaster of Musica Vitae, has been leading the ensemble. In addition to a couple of our own productions each semester, we play with choirs in various locations in Skåne and sometimes a little further afield. During our anniversary year, we are focusing on, among other things, a collaboration with a vocal ensemble in Berlin.
On February 8th at 17 pm we invite you to an anniversary concert at Magle Concert Hall in Lund with music by, among others, Nino Rota, Johann Sebastian Bach, Jacques Offenbach and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
Welcome!
