The Johansson brothers interpret “Jazz in Swedish”

The Johansson brothers on tour – the 60-year-old interprets “Jazz in Swedish”

Anders and Jens Johansson are two of the Swedish rock world's most talented musicians and legends of the genre. They have played, and are playing, with Yngwie Malmsteen, Stratovarius, Hammerfall, Ritchie Blackmore's, Rainbow, Manowar, Tungsten, Raubtier and many more.

Anders and Jens' father was Jan Johansson. He is considered one of the country's best composers of all time and has created, among other things, the modern classic “Jazz in Swedish”, which is today one of Sweden's best-selling jazz albums and highly ranked on lists of the best albums of all time. The album will also turn 2024 in 60.

A few years ago, the brothers started touring and performing their father's music, with an emphasis on "Jazz in Swedish". They quickly changed from the arenas of the hard rock world and now offer atmospheric performances, where you can relax and let your thoughts wander away with the help of the meditative folk music. The brothers reveal that it is not only the audience who is put into this dreamlike state: "Sometimes on stage we are drawn so deeply into the music that we lose track of time and space. It is probably because the music is deeply rooted in the folk soul. You dream yourself away to the great magical Swedish forests", says Anders Johansson.

Anders and Jens continue: “It’s so much fun to play this music. It’s not really pure jazz, but more Nordic blues. It’s so different from what we normally do. The audience is also so broad and participates in such different ways. Those who listen and get tears in their eyes, those who just close their eyes and dream away into melancholy, and those who mainly watch.”

In November, the Johansson Brothers finally head out onto the Swedish roads again and visit the City Hall in Lund for an exclusive Skåne gig!
