As is well known, the textile industry causes major environmental problems, both in the cultivation of cotton in particular, the husbandry of animals for wool production and the manufacture of fabrics and textile products. Of course we should buy fewer clothes, but what else is there to do? Can production be changed, can fibers from, for example, bamboo, nettles or cobwebs replace cotton? What else is in the future viewer?
Nils-Krister Persson from the University of Textiles and Smart Textiles in Borås talks about this.
Organized in collaboration with Lund's Nature Conservation Association and Lund University's Sustainability Forum. Part of the Environmental Program series.
