Lund City

The secrets of the town hall

Welcome to Sunday viewing!

The civic house is site-built at Kulturen 1891-1892 and shows what bourgeois stay could look like. Architect Henrik Sjöström drew an idealized picture of a Renaissance house, partly based on the Lembke half-timbered farm in Malmö from the 1500th century, which was demolished in 1891. The carved sculptures on the facade come from the Lembke farm in Malmö. In addition, the house was also the private residence of Georg Karlin, the museum's founder and first director, at the beginning of the 1900th century.

Cultural guide Ola Främby takes you on a tour and tells you more about the house's secrets.

Included in the entrance fee, no advance booking. Gathering at the back of the White House (entrance hall), where there is a sign indicating the gathering place.
