The University Library invites you to lectures about wartime bicycle propaganda and a time when the corset was a staple garment.

Welcome to two short lectures based on The Closeness of the Present, the Contemporaneity of the Past, the University Library's newly published anthology on everyday print. We gain insight into the wartime craze for a well-pumped bicycle in the service of the nation and into a profession that no longer exists, that of corsetier.
