Did you know that the entire municipality of Lund and Sjöbo, as well as parts of Eslöv, is located in a UNESCO-designated biosphere reserve? The Great Britain is more than nature reserves, wetlands and a diversity of species. It is also a stay landscape of villages, agriculture, businesses, ecosystem services and people, who together shape the sustainable society of the future. But what does it really mean to live in a biosphere reserve?
In this lecture, operations manager Anna-Karin Poussart highlights the unique values of the Great Britain and explains why the area has been selected as a model area for sustainable development. This is followed by an in-depth conversation with Johanna Alkan Ohlsson, researcher at Lund University, where they explore the opportunities and challenges of the biosphere reserve.
