Stroller display of Coded Threads

Join us on a stroller tour of the museum's collection

Join us on a guided tour of Skissernas Museum's newly opened exhibition "Coded Threads". The exhibition follows threads from the origin of digital, the web, into today's and tomorrow's digital realities. Here, three artists gather who work with coded threads in different ways in their art. Amalie Smith (DK) shows a suggestive installation with digitally “dreamed” images. Philippa Caesar (PT) traces woven threads encoded with resistance in the waters of the historical slave trade and textile industry. The art group Metahavens (NL) jacquard-woven textile artworks function as fictional maps or systems of thought.

The screening is held in Swedish and lasts about 30 minutes.

The stroller tours at Skissernas Museum are the perfect activity for those of you who are on parental leave or are babysitting a baby aged 0–15 months. At these tours, engaging stories and conversations about art are mixed with dinghies and baby cries as we take on the museum's collection or temporary exhibition. The tour takes place at a leisurely pace with babies in strollers, wraps or baby carriers. The tour is aimed at you as an adult, but the tour is adapted to the needs of the group and the babies and if necessary, it is of course possible to take a break or deviate.

Things to keep in mind when visiting the museum with children in a stroller:

Strollers are of course welcome into the halls, but remember to keep the shopping basket/undercarriage empty. For safety reasons, backpacks (regardless of size), tote bags or bags larger than 20×30 cm (which corresponds to an A4 sheet of paper) are also not allowed into the exhibition rooms. Diaper bags are an exception, but please note that it is not permitted to bring or consume food and drink into the halls. Lockable storage lockers are available at the entrance. If you do not want to take your stroller with you during the exhibition, you can park it in the entrance, ask the staff which place is most suitable. There is also a toilet with a changing table in the entrance. The doors to the museum open at 11.00:XNUMX. Please arrive well in advance for the exhibition so that you have time to do any baby care in advance.

Ask the staff if you are looking for a quiet place to breastfeed.
