Nordic noir meets Chilean satire in a snow-free chaos.
The snow has melted in Sweden. But a Swedish crime series must have snow. With Netflix already on board, there is only one way out: move the entire shoot to a glacier in southern Chile. There the snow is cold, the labor is cheap and the conflicts are soon red-hot.
In Augustisnö we follow a Swedish film crew that is pushed to the breaking point. The director gropes for new plot twists, the actors revolt and the Chilean staff wonders what kind of circus they have gotten themselves into. With sharp satire, hilarity and humour, the play exposes power structures, culture clashes and the contemporary obsession with export-friendly “Nordic noir”.
The Chilean star duo Guillermo Calderón (script) and Trinidad González (director) are behind this specially written play for the Riksteatern.
