Becoming human

Becoming human – what makes us, what destroys us?

In an open conversation, psychiatrist Christian Rück and sociologist Roland Paulsen meet to discuss what it is to be human, about vulnerability and resilience, about responsibility and development. How have they themselves become the people they are, and what happens to us when identities are shaped by diagnoses and labels? About limiting stories, or helpful ones. About determinism and freedom. Which of them is the loneliest? This is not a book talk, it is not a live podcast. It is a conversation.

Christian Rück is currently working on Generation Trauma, where he examines how the concept of trauma has come to explain more and more of our lives, while Paulsen, in Gifted, examines the notion that our possibilities are determined by innate abilities.
