Jazz, Blues, Soul, Rock'n Roll - they all have their musical origins in African-American spirituals and in gospel music, which conveys "Good news in bad times!"
The main act of the evening, Act of Grace, is a Malmö-based gospel choir whose watchword is Music and Purpose - to spread joy and hope through the inherent power of music! Act of Grace mainly sings gospel, in both churches and clubs, but was also recently seen together with Carola in Melodifestivalen. The evening promises both gospel classics that invite sing-alongs and proper "Holy Ghost Crazy Noice!". Choir director Sara Ekdahl has dedicated her life to singing and gospel music. She has worked for a quarter of a century at Glimåkra folk high school and is a trained singing teacher and choir director. Sara also freelances in various musical constellations, such as the group MaJoy, who became big already in the 90s.
Backing them are a battery of experienced Malmö musicians:
Piano – Daniel Karlsson
Bass – Mattias Wiborn
Drums – Markus Nilsson
Organ – Ola Hedén
The evening's support is the young Lunda band What have we done? which provides instrumental music in a wonderfully crazy mix of jazz, metal, pop, rock and prog. The band consists of Benjamin Brink, Tobias Gröhn, Johannes Gröhn and Hjalmar Wettermark
