In the exhibition 2 twenties visitors can delve deep into the 1920s – a transformative time that was in many ways the beginning of modern society – and put it in relation to our own time. However, during today's viewing we will focus on the 1920s.
The 1920s were a time of liberation and faith in the future. At cocktail parties and in popular culture, the “roaring 20s” are often mentioned. But the 1920s were also a time of increasingly hardened zeitgeist, the time before the great catastrophe of the 1930s. The exhibition is an attempt to nuance the time – the roaring and dark 20s! Throughout the exhibition, women are presented who made their mark on society in different ways during this decade. Curator Karin Hindfelt guides the exhibition.
